Famous!

What did you do in South America? Oh, nothing much, just made it onto local news.

Check out what I just got sent by one of the boys who got stuck in the National Park with me: http://www.rionegro.com.ar/diario/2009/10/24/125635512827.php# For all those who read Spanish, this is the somewhat exaggerated/uncensored version.

Em, have just translated the article via the wonders of internet translation sites. It is somewhat amusing. Definitely something lost in translation - you are referred to as a 'he' throughout!

There is also a comment at the bottom of the article - probably from a local - which goes something along the lines of 'Stupid b*st*rd European tourists thinking they're the muts nuts, not listening to the authorities and then wasting people's time and our local resources when they have to be rescued'. So, you can add 'aggravating locals' to your list of achievements whilst in South America. Well done Em!

Hi Emma, I loved the tale of woe.

You appear to be having great travels. When will your book be published? You have a humorous style that could catch on.

If you think that 35 degrees celsius ish was hot when you were in Paraguay you should be here now. It registered 50C up on Espana this afternoon. We are even more "nuts" than usual with the heat and the kids are dropping like flies. They are also bad-tempered!

The Trinity exams start tomorrow for three days. We could do with some help, but I am sure that you have more interesting things to do!

I look forward to the next instalment of your travels.
Keep safe.
